Letter from the CGW Board

Dear Students,

With the current uncertainty concerning the number of people who will be allowed to gather in person for large events in 2021, the Board of Costumer’s Guild West, with advice from a Costume College sub-committee, our accountants, and our legal team has decided to refund all 2020 Costume College registrations at this time.

Our goal is to have all registrations as well as Gala, Tea and tour tickets refunded by September 30, 2020, the end of the fiscal year for Costumer’s Guild West.  Most memberships were paid by credit card and will be refunded through MSI to the credit card used initially.  The Costume College Registrar will be handling each credit card return individually.  Those registrations paid by check will be refunded with a Costumer’s Guild West check issued by our bookkeeper.

Currently, the major change we are planning for Costume College 2021 is to move the date for registration from November 2020 to early March 2021, with the registration book listing classes and events posted online beforehand. This is a change that had been contemplated even before the pandemic!

Costume College Dean Geri Rex and the Costume College Teacher Liaison for 2021 will be contacting before the end of this year each teacher who had volunteered for 2020, to see if they wish to teach the same classes they had originally volunteered, or if they would like to make any changes.  Once that is solidified the call will go out to teachers for additional classes, if needed.

Thank you for your understanding as we travel these unprecedented waters which often twist and turn while changing daily.  We, too, want to meet again in person, but we also want to make sure all our members are safe. The Board will continue to monitor the situation and keep our members informed if there are any other changes we need to take.
