CGW is a club for amateurs and professionals who like to make historical, science fiction, or fantasy costumes.

CGW Workshop: Teens Slip

This is the third workshop in the CGW Teens Series! At the end of the day, you should have a mostly-completed slip to wear under 1909-1916-style dresses. This will be your foundation for Late Edwardian clothing, including events  for Titanic, season 1 of Downton Abbey, Early Automobile (Model T), and Doctor Zhivago.

We will be constructing a pattern custom-drafted by Natalie Meyer.

This workshop will be limited to 7 students.

Date/Time: Saturday, February 18, 2017, time 10am -6pm

Cost: $30 for members and sister guilds. $60 for non-members.

Tickets: Tickets for CGW members will go on sale January 19 at 7am. Ticket sales will end on February 10, 2017, at 11:00pm, or sooner, if all tickets have been sold. Click here to purchase a ticket.

Children: This workshop will be very busy, so please do not bring children.

Food: Lunch will be provided by CGW and is included in the cost.  Snacks and tea will be provided by the host.

  • 5 yds. of a reasonably good quality white muslin
  • lace
  • buttons
  • eyelet
  • lunch
  • snacks
  • tea and water

Student provides:

  • sewing machine
  • sewing kit
  • full bust measurement, hip measurement, and height at the time of registration
  • If you will be wearing this slip over a teens era corset, please bring the corset


About our instructor: Natalie Meyer

Natalie Meyer has been a part of Costume College and CGW almost since the beginning. She is an excellent instructor, especially in vintage sewing techniques. Her costumes can be seen not only on Natalie, but also on the docents and at the fashion shows at Heritage Square Museum.
