CGW Event: Tea & Skate

Saturday, January 9, 2016, 2 pm for tea & 5 pm for ice skating

What could be better than to get dressed up in a costume of any era and enjoy a traditional afternoon tea in the beautiful 1923 Biltmore Hotel with your fellow costumers? Rendezvous Court is adorned with Moorish carved wood ceilings, gold-leaf accents and angelic themes. From its rose marble fountain to the enormous bronze Baroque stairwell, you can’t help but delight in its elegant two-story lounge. Afterwards we’ll promenade across the street to the Pershing Square outdoor ice skating rink for an evening of skating or just to watch the holiday spectacle?

What to wear: Any costume that you will feel comfortable in! Past events have seen participants in Victorian, Steampunk, 1920’s, Edwardian, and more. Tea seating is at both couches and chairs.

Photography: We will try to take group photos at the Biltmore between the end of the tea and the beginning of the skate. Meet in the lower lobby at approximately 4:30pm for photos. There will probably be people photographing the skating, as well.
